Black & Brown Femme Films Streaming Platform
BBFF Streaming Platform
BBFF Streaming Platform: Coming Soon
Black & Brown Femme Films is preparing to launch the official BBFF Streaming Platform, a new digital home for films, conversations, and creative work that center Black and Brown femme stories.
This platform expands BBFF’s mission beyond the annual festival by creating year-round access to independent films, filmmaker spotlights, interviews, panel discussions, and community-centered programming. Our goal is to make powerful, visionary cinema more accessible while continuing to uplift the filmmakers, artists, and communities at the heart of BBFF.
Why BBFF Streaming Matters
BBFF Streaming is more than a place to watch films. It is a purpose-driven platform built to support storytelling, cultural visibility, filmmaker empowerment, and community connection.
Through this platform, audiences will be able to engage with independent films created by women of color, Black and Brown filmmakers, femme-centered storytellers, and artists whose work reflects the depth, complexity, and beauty of our communities.
As a nonprofit initiative, BBFF is committed to reinvesting support back into the mission. A majority of eligible film revenue will go directly to participating filmmakers, while the remaining portion helps BBFF cover platform maintenance, operations, programming, community initiatives, festival events, and future creative development.
Expanding Our Mission Beyond the Festival
For years, BBFF has created space for powerful stories to be seen, heard, and celebrated. The streaming platform allows us to continue that work beyond a single festival weekend.
The platform will help us share films and conversations with audiences who may not be able to attend in person, while also creating new opportunities for filmmakers to reach viewers across cities, communities, and borders.
From short films and documentaries to experimental works, interviews, panels, and festival highlights, BBFF Streaming will serve as a growing digital archive and cultural space for Black and Brown femme-centered storytelling.
Flexible Viewing Options
The BBFF Streaming Platform is being designed with flexible viewing options so supporters can engage in the way that works best for them.
Planned access options may include:
- Monthly subscriptions for ongoing access to the streaming library
- Day passes for limited-time viewing
- Individual film rentals for viewers who want to support a specific film or filmmaker
- Annual membership options that may include streaming access, event perks, and discounted or included admission to select BBFF events
Final pricing, access options, and revenue details will be announced closer to launch.
A Space Rooted in Community
BBFF Streaming is not just about distributing films. It is about building a digital community around the work.
In addition to films, the platform will feature filmmaker interviews, artist spotlights, recorded panels, festival conversations, and other content that extends the BBFF experience throughout the year.
This platform will allow us to preserve and share the creative energy of the festival while continuing to build relationships between filmmakers, audiences, educators, organizers, and cultural institutions.
Future Virtual Events
The BBFF Streaming Platform will also support future virtual programming. As the platform grows, we plan to use it as a home for select festival highlights, virtual screenings, Vibe showcases, artist-led conversations, and special community events.
For those who cannot attend in person, BBFF Streaming will help make our programming more accessible from anywhere.
