FEMME GAZE: SHE SPEAKS JAZZ

An elegant evening of poetry, jazz, and femme storytelling featuring Chicago Poet Laureate Mayda del Valle and a curated ensemble of Chicago femme poets.

Black & Brown Femme Films invites audiences into an intimate night of spoken word, live jazz, and cinematic visuals centering Black and Brown femme voices.

Featuring celebrated poet Mayda del Valle, alongside a powerful lineup of Chicago femme poets and live music by The Mira Trio, Femme Gaze explores femininity through the lived experience of Black and Brown bodies.

Blending poetry, improvisational jazz, and film, the evening creates a space charged with emotion, rhythm, and presence, and concludes with a special audience Q&A with Mayda del Valle.

Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest feminine expression and come ready to listen deeply.
