Shikha Patel

Shikha Patel is an animator born in India, and raised in East Africa, Uganda. She is 24 years old and a current graduate student pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in animation at DePaul University, Chicago. After viewing the raw footage and talking to people currently stuck in an active war zone, “BornFree” is her first debut film as an animator and storyteller. Her dream is to tell stories, stories of her time, stories of people who are unheard and stories which document, depict real life events in the form of animation. “The lines of my art hold weight, and my lines are free and true”.
