synopsis

Yang Shenghua, Yang Yanfang, and Yang Zhengxian—three women from the Dali Dong village in China—preserve the ancestral art of weaving as an act of resistance and cultural transmission. Together, they weave memory, community, and autonomy into a network of sisterhood that supports entire generations.

Mexican director, screenwriter and film producer. With film and photography studies at West Virginia University, Master in Film and PhD student in Critical Gender Studies from the Universidad Iberoamericana. Her film projects have been selected in national and international festivals, among them: Monterrey International Film Festival (Mexico), Festival Internacional Universitario de Documental Social (Spain), FERATUM International Film Festival (Mexico) and winner of awards in the festivals Macabro Festival Internacional de Cine de Horror, Stuff Mx, Vic Film Fest and Severed Limbs 16. Her research is related to gender studies, film, artistic methodology and video essay.
