BBFF 2025 Festival Highlights
The 2025 Black & Brown Femme Film Festival transformed the Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago into a powerful celebration of storytelling, artistry, and community. Over two dynamic days, we witnessed the extraordinary vision and resilience of Black and Brown femme filmmakers from across the globe.
Forty-four films spanning intimate documentaries, bold dramas, animation, comedy, and horror created a tapestry of voices that challenged, inspired, and moved audiences. Each screening illuminated truths, ignited conversations, and transformed strangers into collaborators and friends.
A Gathering of Voices and Vision
The festival created space for meaningful exchange through curated panels with filmmakers and industry professionals, alongside community conversations that pushed creative and social boundaries. The energy was unmistakable—in packed screening rooms, animated intermissions, and the genuine excitement of artists meeting their audiences. Every laugh, question, and burst of applause reinforced our mission: centering women of color in cinema and ensuring their stories reach the audiences they deserve.
Community at the Core
BBFF 2025 was made possible by our incredible supporters, partners, volunteers, and attendees. Your presence transformed screenings into collective experiences, creating the vibrant atmosphere that defines BBFF. The connections formed and conversations sparked will extend far beyond these two days, continuing to nurture collaboration and community.
The Story Continues
While BBFF 2025 has concluded, our commitment to amplifying these voices remains constant. We are developing year-round programming, community initiatives, and launching a streaming platform that will bring festival-quality content to audiences everywhere. The spirit of discovery and celebration that filled the Logan Center will continue to grow and reach new communities.
