The ViBe: Grown & Sexy Speakeasy Fundraiser

The Grown & Sexy Speakeasy Fundraiser brought live music, an intimate atmosphere, and Chicago artistry together in support of Black & Brown Femme Films.

Guests gathered for two close-up performances featuring Chicago artists King Crybaby and Jazz Starr. The evening invited audiences to settle into music shaped by blues, guitar, soul, and the melodies that defined a generation.

Rather than a large concert, the speakeasy was designed as a close and personal live-music experience. Each performance welcomed a small audience into a soulful setting where the artists and their music could take center stage.

Music with a Purpose

Supporting a Submission-Free Film Festival

BBFF does not charge filmmakers submission fees. The Grown & Sexy Speakeasy helped cover the costs of producing the festival while allowing resources to remain in the hands of the artists creating the work.

All proceeds from the fundraiser supported Black & Brown Femme Films and its work to expand the festival, welcome more filmmakers, and create space for stories by Black and Brown femme artists.

An Intimate Evening

Live Music, Connection, and Community

The speakeasy created a warm setting where guests could enjoy live Chicago talent, purchase drinks, and directly support BBFF’s mission. It was an evening built around music and community, with every ticket helping the organization provide more opportunities for filmmakers of color.
